Know which visits are human. Decide what happens next.
Gravito Quality Signal gives each visit to your site a verdict: human, bot or uncertain. It is part of Gravito CMP and runs in the page head, as early as the CMP does. The verdict goes where your tags and your ad stack can read it. Your rules decide what happens.
What it delivers
A verdict on each visit.
Your rules, not ours.

Non-human traffic: some of your visitors are not people
Some automated traffic runs JavaScript and renders pages the way a browser does. It produces valid requests, so network filtering lets it through, and it never meets a challenge because it does not fill in forms. It is then counted as visits in analytics, as impressions in the ad stack and as interactions in the consent layer. In Gravito's early-access work with publishers, automated traffic like this was found on sites that already had network-level blocking, and their analytics were counting it as real visits.

How the verdict is made
A script in the page head reads behavioural signals in the browser: focus and visibility of the tab, time on the page, scrolling, mouse and touch movement, clicks, and signs of browser automation. From these it gives the visit its verdict.
A server-side layer then checks each verdict again with signals only the server sees, such as the network a request came from; its corrections show up in your reporting. Decisions made in the page as it loads use the in-page verdict.
Visitors see nothing. There is no challenge and no puzzle to solve.
The verdict normally lives only for the session. Depending on how it is used and integrated, it can also be stored in the visitor's profile, where the default server-side retention is 364 days.
Quality Signal reads its signals before the visitor's choice, on Gravito's own legitimate interest in telling a person from a bot, which is part of running consent itself. From the verdict on, what happens and on what basis is the site owner's decision: there is no single answer for every site.

Your rules decide what happens
Quality Signal classifies and signals. It does not block, gate or challenge anyone. The verdict is published to the data layer and can be read in the page, so the systems you already run decide what to do with it:
-
Tags in Google Tag Manager can wait for the verdict and fire only for the visits you choose. Load the script in sync or defer mode when tags wait on it.
-
Ad calls can be skipped for visits your rules mark as not human, so machines stay out of your auctions on your terms.
-
Audiences and analytics: tags that build audiences can leave out visits that are not human, and analytics can report people and automation separately.
Acting in real time is best effort: it relies on the verdict available at that moment, and reporting shows what got through. Automation that behaves like a person can still be classed as human, which is why the verdict feeds your rules rather than replacing them.
Your own signatures
You can add signatures of your own: rules on the user agent, on mouse movement and on browser automation signals. A saved signature reaches your site through the script's settings, with no change on the site itself.
See what your traffic is made of
Reporting breaks your traffic down by page, country, network, user agent, verdict and type of automation. It shows which crawlers and AI tools visit, by name, where they identify themselves. On high-traffic sites reporting can run on a sample; every visit still gets its verdict.
The usual start is to measure first: install it, change nothing on the site, and see what your traffic is made of.
To try it, ask for a traffic report on the Quality Signal site, or contact us.
